Former University of Iowa guard, Caitlin Clark, was named 2023-24 Big Ten Female Athlete of the Year, announced today by the Big Ten Conference Office. Clark, from West Des Moines, Iowa, is the first Hawkeye to win the award in back-to-back years. With the WNBA season about to get underway next week, the Indiana Fever and their local TV partner, QTHR, who is owned by TEGNA, announced that they will be expanding their television footprint to 11 new markets. That includes a pair of TV markets provide coverage to the state of Iowa. TEGNA also owns WOI in Des Moines and WQAD in the Quad Cities.
