Austria and Switzerland are planning to invest €2.1 billion into flood protection on the Rhine river. An agreement was signed by both countries in May and has now been unanimously approved by the Austrian parliament. Hurricane Beryl has strengthened into the highest level category 5 storm, sweeping across several islands in the south eastern Caribbean and killing at least six people.
