This offseason, the Kansas Jayhawks made a key addition through the Transfer Portal when they added shooting guard AJ Storr from the Wisconsin Badgers. At one point, however, it didn’t seem like Storr would be transferring as he tested the waters of the NBA Draft. It was a difficult decision for him but one that he broke down and explained how close he came to staying in the draft instead of going to Kansas. “I was pretty close,” AJ Storr said. “Had some talks with my family. Talked it over and then decided that KU was the best place to come.” AJ Storr added that he believes winning at Kansas ...

It’s a sentence that would hardly be believable at plenty of points in recent memory, but a Week 9 rivalry showdown between Kansas and Kansas State could shape the College Football Playoff race. That is, at least, what ESPN analyst Greg McElroy thinks. It might not be the game getting the biggest billing that weekend — Missouri traveling to Alabama might take the cake — but McElroy thinks beyond likely playing a key role in shaping the Big 12 race, the winner of this in-state battle could be in a great spot to compete for a College Football Playoff spot. “Missouri at Alabama is the headliner, ...

Commitments can be significant for more reasons than one. That’s certainly how you could view Zeke Mayo’s considering what it means to him to be a Jayhawk. Mayo recently described what it felt like to commit to Kansas as a native of Lawrence. He said it was pretty special to tell Bill Self that he wanted to make a homecoming for his senior season. “I mean the moment that I was sitting in coach’s office and I told him I wanted to come home. It was a surreal moment because, you know, like, a kid like me dreams of this kind of stuff,” recalled Mayo. “Just the moment I told him I committed, it jus...

AJ Storr is on to his third different school in three seasons, transferring from St. John’s to Wisconsin in 2023 and exploding there in 2024 before heading to Kansas. All three stops are notable basketball powers. But of course, playing at Kansas, the birthplace of basketball, for a historical brand, a Hall of Fame coach, and in the best stadium in the country provides a completely different experience. There’s myraid reasons to become a Jayhawk, but at recent media availability, Storr explained what exactly stuck out to him about KU. “Really, just the history of KU,” Storr answered when asked...
