A busy recruiting weekend wrapped up on Sunday in college football. Kentucky’s class of 2025 currently sits at 17 commitments and is ranked No. 20 overall. With talking season starting this week, the Wildcats will now start to enter training camp mode heading into another football season, but there is still one more announcement on the horizon. Louisville (Ky.) Male center Isaac “Spike” Sowells Jr. has a commitment announcement planned for Thursday, July 18. That is the same day that Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops is scheduled to take the podium at SEC Media Days in Dallas. Will the Wildcats ...

The biggest commitment window of the 2025 high school recruiting calendar wrapped up on Saturday. One day after seeing blue-chip cornerback Dawayne Galloway commit to Purdue, another Kentucky defensive target came of the board on Saturday afternoon. Snellville (Ga.) South Gwinnett linebacker Jaiden Braker committed to South Carolina. The three-star recruit will be a Gamecock. Shane Beamer‘s program got the first official visit in June before Braker made trips to Rutgers, Utah, NC State, and Kentucky. The Wildcats made a push for the defensive prospect, but the Gamecocks were largely considered...

Kentucky hosted about two dozen prospects for official visits during the month of June. The Wildcats parlayed many of those official visits into commitments, but you can’t win ’em all. On Friday morning a pair of twins from South Florida, Mandrell Desir and Darryll Desir, announced they’re staying in the Sunshine State. The Desir twins will play for Gus Malzahn at UCF. The Desir Twins are pass-rushers on the edge of the Miami Norland defensive line, clocking in around 6-foot-3, 220-pounds. The three-star talents received some interest early in the recruiting process from all of the Florida sch...

The Knights got the first official visit from And...

Tackle was a significant need for Kentucky in the 2025 high school recruiting cycle. A third commitment at the position on Thursday capped off a huge last month for the program. Trotwood (Ohio) Madison senior Jermiel Atkins became the third offensive tackle to commit to Kentucky picking the SEC program over Minnesota and Virginia Tech. The Wildcats are addressing their offensive tackle need in a big way as Atkins will join Darrin Strey and Bryan Auguste in t...

The Big Blue Wall got a whole bigger on the Fourth of July. Jermiel Atkins celebrated our nation’s Independence by announcing his commitment to Kentucky. The 6-foot-8, 270-pound offensive tackle from Dayton Trotwood-Madison was recruited by Vince Marrow and Eric Wolford. Samari Reed made an atypical announcement during an eventful day for college football recruiting. It did not end up going the Wildcats’ way. In most modern recruitments, we have a good idea if a player is leaning one way or another. There are times when that doesn’t matter, like when Tavion Wallace shocked Florida State and picked Arkansas, but for the most part, folks aren’t fooled by decision time. This Fourth of July was not one of those days. His five finalists were Clemson, Penn State, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and West Virginia. Over the last 24 hours, there was buzz for each one of those scho...

One day after landing a top defensive line target, a second top defensive line target decided to become a Cat. Dyersburg (Tenn.) High senior Kalen Edwards followed Javeon Campbell‘s lead and committed to Kentucky on Wednesday evening. Kentucky has dipped into the Volunteer State to record a recruiting win for the first time this cycle. Edwards is a massive defensive tackle prospect who will help fill a clear need on Kentucky’s defense. KSR’s Film Room is taking a closer look at what the ninth top-500 ...

The Kentucky football recruiting decisions are rolling in daily. The Wildcats could celebrate the first week of July with four straight days of commitments. Another addition may be on the horizon, but we will have to wait just a little bit longer. Dennious Jackson, a junior college defensive lineman, shared on social media that he will be announcing his college decision on Monday, July 8. Unlike the players making moves this week, Jackson is a member of the 2024 recruiting class. That means once he selects a school, he’ll be quickly packing his bags and moving to campus ahead of preseason trai...
