Dale Earnhardt Jr. sent a message for Bubba Wallace, who was fined $50,000 by NASCAR for his hit on Alex Bowman in Chicago. On theDale Jr. Download podcast, Earnhardt revealed the advice he would give to Wallace as he moves on from the incident. “I would say to Bubba, ‘Man it wasn’t that big of a deal,'” Earnhardt said. “I would just say to Bubba, ‘Hey, I can understand the emotion, you ran into him.’ A lot of us didn’t think it should have been a fine. …I thought 50 grand was excessive. NASCAR has their reasons, I don’t know what they were. I was surprised by that. That was a large fine. “Put...

A NASCAR insider has weighed in on if the organization made the right call on the Bubba Wallace fine and the wreck between Corey LaJoie and Kyle Busch. Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports first shared his thoughts on Wallace being finished $50,000 for hitting Alex Bowman at the end of the Chicago Street Race. “Wallace car owner Denny Hamlin believes optics were the reason for the fine in the first place — that because Wallace did it with the cameras focused on him, NASCAR had to react,” Pockrass wrote. “I’d think any social media uproar might make NASCAR do more analysis of a situation to see if it is ...

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is ready for Corey LaJoie to take big steps in his NASCAR career now that Rodney Childers will be his crew chief starting next year. On the Dale Jr. Download podcast, Earnhardt shared his thoughts on how LaJoie’s career has played out. “I think that we gave Corey a pass, and rightfully so because we never really knew what the equipment was like that he was driving,” Earnhardt said. “He’s drove for teams that just didn’t perform. But now with (Carson) Hocevar, it’s bringing the heat because Hocevar is going out there and running well. …Maybe Hocevar doesn’t always get the res...

Dale Earnhardt Jr. believes Richard Childress Racing (RCR) has one major hurdle that is preventing the team from having success. On the Dale Jr. Download podcast, Earnhardt said the RCR location has hampered the team. “They are in Welcome, North Carolina. It’s literally just another hour up the road (from Charlotte). It’s not that far, but it might as well be on Mars,” Earnhardt said. “When you get an opportunity to hire somebody that has a lot of talent, one of the tougher selling points is that travel every day up the road. If you got people that live in Mooresville, live on the lake, live i...

Dale Earnhardt Jr. had a massive problem with NASCAR punishing Bubba Wallace for dooring Alex Bowman during the cool-down lap following the conclusion to the Chicago Street Race earlier this month. NASCAR fined Wallace $50,000 for the infraction, but Earnhardt argued on his “Dale Jr. Download” podcast this week for why Wallace shouldn’t have been fined. Earnhardt brought up that some have said that Bowman had his window net down and his belts either loose or off during the cool-down lap and if that’s true, that should have resulted in him getting a talking to from NASCAR. “This got more attent...

Corey LaJoie was responsible for the Lap 120 caution during this past Sunday’s race at Pocono, taking out Kyle Busch among other drivers. Heading into Turn 1 off the restart, LaJoie looked to make a move past Busch on the bottom. Busch blocked, forcing LaJoie on the apron. LaJoie then came up in Turn 1 and clipped Busch, sending him up the racetrack. Fortunately for LaJoie, he didn’t sustain any damage during the caution. That came down to the one correct move he made during the sequence, which Denny Hamlin explained on Monday’s “Actions Detrimental” podcast. “He actually made the correct move...
