Robert Towne, who's career spanned some of the biggest classics of the New Hollywood era of filmmaking, has died at the age of 89. His publicist Carri McClure says he died on Monday surrounded by family at his home in Los Angeles. No cause of death has yet been revealed. Seth Binzer, who went by his stage name Shifty Shellshock, was found in his Los Angeles home earlier this week. He died on Monday (24 June), according to the examiner's website. Kazuko Shiraishi, a leading name in modern Japanese “beat” poetry, known for her dramatic readings, at times with jazz music, has died. She was 93. Shiraishi, whom American poet and translator Kenneth Rexroth dubbed “the Allen Ginsberg of Japan,” died of heart failure on June 14, Shichosha, a Tokyo publisher of her works, said today. French singer-songwriter, model and actress Françoise Hardy has died at the age of 80. Her death was announced by her son and musician Thomas Dutronc on social media. Dutronc wrote, captioning a photo of himself as a baby with his mother: “Maman est partie” (“Mum is gone”).
