Foo Fighters‘ U.S. summer tour leg got off to an inauspicious start on Wednesday when the band was forced to cut its performance at New York’s Citi Field short and evacuate the venue due to lightning storms. The rockers, who are in the middle of their Everything or Nothing at All tour, only played for an hour and 20 minutes (roughly half of their typical marathon sets) before they got the call to end the show. You can see the truncated set list and Dave Grohl‘s weather-related announcements below. READ MORE: Top 25 Foo Fighters Songs Dave Grohl’s Weather Warning to the Crowd“I just got word fr...

Elvis Costello and Daryl Hall‘s joint tour came to New York City on Tuesday night, specifically to the showplace of the nation, Radio City Music Hall. For those scratching their heads after hearing those two names together — this writer included when she initially heard it several months ago — there is a history. Four decades ago, Hall contributed harmony vocals to one of Costello’s albums, 1984’s Goodbye Cruel World, on a song called “The Only Flame in Town.” (Hall also appeared in the accompanying music video. From Costello’s album liner notes: “Naturally, my romantic rival was Daryl, but my...

Slash kicked off his inaugural S.E.R.P.E.N.T. festival over the weekend with back-to-back shows that consisted almost exclusively of blues and rock staples. The trek launched on Friday at Bonner, Montana’s KettleHouse Amphitheater and continued on Saturday at the Northern Quest Resort and Casino in Airway Heights, Washington. (Slash also made a third stop at Seattle’s Easy Street Records on Sunday for a shorter in-store performance.) You can see the KettleHouse Amphitheater set list and videos from the performance below. Def Leppard and Journey kicked off their co-headlining North American tour on Saturday at St. Louis’ Busch Stadium, with support from Cheap Trick. You can see all three set lists and video from the show below. The lion’s share of Def Leppard’s set came from their two biggest albums, Pyromania and Hysteria, which accounted for a combined 13 of their 18 songs. They’ve reintroduced Pyromania opener “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” into their set, which they hadn’t played live since 2015 prior to an intimate June show at SiriusXM’s the Garage. “Comin’ Under Fire” also appeared in the set for just the...

Asia played its first proper concert since 2019 on Wednesday evening (July 3) in Ridgefield, Connecticut. The performance launched the band’s summer tour and unveiled a new lineup who quickly revealed they were well-equipped for the task. The British group’s eponymous 1982 debut, now over 40 years removed from its original release, figured heavily in the night’s set list with seven of its nine tracks getting feature time. It’s hardly surprising seeing as the album went to No. 1 on Billboard’s album charts, driven by the success of three major singles. Songs like the now-signature “Heat of the ...

The Doobie Brothers began their summer tour on Sunday evening in Los Angeles. Though they’ve been off the road in the United States since late January, the Doobie Brothers were well-primed for this current trek after a series of shows played overseas this month opening for Eagles. Their 19-song set, as expected, leaned heavily on hits from the group’s initial ’70s heyday, including classics like “Black Water,” “China Grove” and the set-closing “Listen to the Music.” The Doobie Brothers also left plenty of room to chronicle later successes with vocalist and keyboardist Michael McDonald like “Ta...

The Van Halen that Sammy Hagar left in 1996 wasn’t the same as the one he returned to in 2004. On June 11, 2004 Hagar and his former bandmates reunited onstage for the first time in nearly nine years. Since the singer fired or was quit – depending on who you believe – on Father’s Day 1996, Van Halen had endured some difficult times. First they attempted a studio reunion with their original frontman David Lee Roth, which flamed out spectacularly and in full view of the public at the MTV Music Awards. Then they recruited Extreme‘s Gary Cherone as their third lead singer, which resulted in 1998’s...

Roger Daltrey kicked off his solo U.S. tour on Monday night in Glenside, Pennsylvania. The singer performed a mix of Who classics like “Who Are You,” “The Kids Are Alright,” “Won’t Get Fooled Again” and more, plus covers of Leo Sayer, Taj Mahal and Creedence Clearwater Revival. “Won’t Get Fooled Again” required an explanation from Daltrey, who took a moment to note why he no longer performs the famous rock ‘n’ roll scream in the song. “It’s brutal let me tell you, it’s a brutal thing to do. I mean, I’ve really wrecked my voice so many times,” he said. “I’ve retired from the scream, but I’m sti...
