The 'M3GAN' sequel is officially in the works. 'M3GAN 2.0', a follow-up to the hit horror, which follows an AI doll who develops chilling self awareness, is slated to hit cinemas on January 17, 2025. Writer Akela Cooper will once again pen the script and stars Allison Williams (Gemma) and Violet McGraw (Cady) will return in their respective roles, Variety reports. It's not known if director Gerard Johnstone will be back at the helm or if M3GAN portrayers Amie Donald or Jenna Davis will reprise the role. James Wan is already thinking about a 'M3GAN' sequel. The 45-year-old filmmaker has produced the new sci-fi horror flick about a robotic doll that becomes extremely protective of a child and explained how the flick could develop into a franchise. 'M3GAN' required reshoots to get a PG-13 rating. The new sci-fi horror film tells the story of a killer doll that becomes overprotective of a young girl and director Gerard Johnstone explained how some scenes were toned down to make sure that the movie could be seen by younger audiences.
