Visa on Tuesday reported quarterly earnings of $4.87 billion, or $2.40 per share. This compares with $4.16 billion, or $2.00 per share, in last year's third quarter, the US-based credit card provider said. Excluding items, Visa reported adjusted earnings of $4.91 billion or $2.42 per share for the period. The company's revenue for the quarter rose 9.6% to $8.90 billion from $8.12 billion last year. Total processed transactions, which represent transactions processed by Visa, for the quarter were 59.3 billion, a 10% increase over the prior year.
