DJ Pickett Scouting Summary: “Dynamic, explosive two-way playmaker who looks like one of the top defensive back prospects in the 2025 cycle. A big-time two-way player as a receiver and defensive back. Has a thin, lean frame at over 6-foot-2 and around 170 pounds. An extremely twitchy athlete who also excels in track and field. Turned in sensational marks in the 100 meters (10.62 seconds) and 200 meters (21.69 seconds) as a sophomore. A natural playmaker on Friday nights. Pairs his plus athleticism and easy movement skills with high level instincts and ball skills. Has elite range as a deep safety. Reads and jumps routes to make plays on the ball. Doubles as a game-breaking receiver with the ability to take the top off of defenses and come down with acrobatic contested catches. Finished his sophomore season with 43 catches for 886 yards and 12 touchdowns in addition to picking off four passes. Ranked as a safety early on, but could be a legitimate high-end cornerback prospect or even play some offense in college. A bit older for the cycle, with a May birthday. Will need to continue adding good mass to his leaner frame.”

Great understanding of what receivers are trying to do when setting up their routes. Quality defensive back build measuring in at nearly 6-foot-2, 190 pounds during summer camp visits with an impressive 6-foot-6 wingspan. Can play as a slot corner, boundary corner or hang defender depending on the scheme. Physical player in press coverage and more than willing in run support. Solid long speed on the track running 23.69 in the 200m and 11.76 in the 100m during his sophomore track and field season. High floor prospect who can play a multitude of roles in the secondary and around the box.”

5-star WR Jaime Ffrench — Friday, August 30

School: Jacksonville Mandarin

On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine: Texas 57.2%, LSU 17.7%, Ohio State 13.9%

Intel: On3’s Chad Simmons and Steve Wiltfong, July 11

Jaime Ffrench Scouting Summary: “Savvy receiver with advanced route-running skills. Measured at around 6-foot-1, 185 pounds in the off-season prior to his junior year. Tests as a solid athlete in the combine setting. Shows elite change of direction and start-stop ability on Friday nights and in the camp setting. Easily changes gears within his routes. Capable of stacking corners off the line and shows shake at the top of his routes. Flashed coordination and the ball skills to make fantastic one-handed grabs at camps. Shifty after the catch. A competitive prospect who showed up to seemingly every event in the off-season. Can clean up concentration drops as he can lose focus at times. Projects as one of the top receivers in the 2025 cycle in large part due to his well-rounded, technical skill set.”

4-star SAF Jordan Young — Saturday, October 12

School: Monroe (N.C.)
On300 Ranking: No. 36 NATL. (No. 2 SAF)
On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine: Clemson 24.7%, NC State 18.1%, Florida State 12.4%, Michigan 10.4%

Jordan Young Scouting Summary: “Highly coordinated two-way playmaker who could be a top prospect as a receiver or defensive back. Has unverified size, but looks to have a thinner build. Lines up as a receiver and safety for his high school A very productive player on both sides of the ball, eclipsing 1,000 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns while picking off eight passes as a sophomore. Primarily lines up in the slot on offense. An effortless mover. Bursts off the line and gets up to full speed quickly. Eats up grass as a route-runner. Has a long, natural stride in the open field. Naturally coordinated and shows the ability to track the ball. At his best as a ball-hawking free safety on defense. Uses his high-end ball skills to make plays in zone coverage. A state finalist in the long jump and triple jump as a sophomore. Posted a personal best in the triple jump with a 45-8.75 leap, a very strong mark. Will need to continue adding mass and strength to his frame and improving his play strength as a defender.”
