Report: Troy Tulowitzki rehired at Texas as new hitting coach after Michael Earley takes A&M job

Former MLB star and Texas Longhorns assistant coach Troy Tulowitzki is being rehired by the Longhorns as the team’s new hitting coach, according to a report&utmsource=t.co&utmmedium=referral) by Kirk Bohls of the Houston Chronicle.

Head coach Jim Schlossnagle left Texas A&M to become the head coach at Texas following the College World Series. He brought his entire staff with him. That included Michael Earley, who was set to become the Longhorns hitting coach before he was hired back to Texas A&M as the head coach. That left the Longhorns hitting coach job open again for Troy Tulowitzki.

Troy Tulowitzki has previously coached at Texas as an assistant between 2020 and 2022. In 2024, he was the Director of Player Development for the Longhorns.

Previously, Tulowitzki had announced previously that he would not be returning to Texas under Schlossnagle.
