Nebraska basketball received some positive news Monday morning regarding one of their incoming transfers, Rollie Worster, who is reportedly all healed up.

Worster comes in from stops at Utah State and then Utah in his previous four seasons but arrived in Lincoln with a bit of a leg injury. Thankfully, his recovery from said injury has gone smoothly and college hoops insider Jon Rothstein reports that he’s ready to get back on the court.

Rothstein tweeted this update on Worster Monday morning: “Nebraska’s Rollie Worster (leg) has been fully cleared for all basketball related activities, per Fred Hoiberg. Transfer from Utah. Averaged 9.9 PPG and 5.5 APG last season.”

Thanks to that leg injury, Worster appeared in just 16 games this past season for the Utes, averaging 9.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game.

Other than that setback, though, Worster has been about as reliable a point guard as there is, having started 76 of the 77 games he appeared in over the past three seasons in Utah as well as 101 out of 103 total games in his college career thus far. You can expect him to start for Nebraska as well.

If there was one flaw on the 2024 Nebraska squad, it was their lack of a stabilizing point guard presence. They didn’t need a star running the show, just someone like Worster, a steady and heady veteran who can run the offense and get the ball to guys in the right spot.

Rather, in ’24, Nebraska was point guard by committee. Heck, their starting center was the team-leader in assists with three per game. That won’t be the case in 2025, as Worster will step in after averaging 5.5 assists last season, which was good for third-most in the Pac-12 last season.

Worster played high school basketball for Hellgate High in Missoula, Montana. He was unranked in the 2020 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
