Dozens injured in turbulence on Air Europa flight

At least 30 passengers were injured in turbulence during a flight from Spain to Uruguay on Monday, Air Europa said.

The plane was forced to make an emergency landing at a Brazilian airport, the airline said on social media platform X.

The flight, which was on its way from Madrid to Montevideo, had 325 passengers on board.

News website G1 reported some passengers suffered fractures and others hit their heads during the turbulence.

In May, one person died and more than 30 others were injured in severe turbulence during a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore.
