Turkish press claim Man Utd want to sign 'tremendous' £25.4m forward, Premier League rivals keen

Manchester United now have all the pieces in place to conduct some excellent recruitment this summer, now an exciting forward has been linked.

For Ineos, this summer was seemingly going to be navigated without adding their favoured recruitment specialists to the fold. But Dan Ashworth has now joined the club officially and the fireworks can commence.

Four positions are still required, although in all honesty more than four would be welcomed to bolster the squad which finished eighth in the Premier League last season.

One area which could be strengthened but more of a luxury than a necessity is the wing positions. Now Manchester United are looking at signing a winger who Spurs also want.

Manchester United keen on signing Baris Alper Yilmaz

The player from the Super Lig that United want to sign is Galatasaray’s Baris Alper Yilmaz who played a big role in his side’s title win last season.

Now according to Turkish outlet Haber 3, the talented winger is a player who has Ineos seriously considering a move.

Due to his appearances, he’s attracted interest from three Premier League clubs with United joined by both Spurs and Brighton.

The winger is likely to cost around €30 million or £25.4m which is a hefty sum, however, he is a very talented footballer and scored six goals plus six assists in the Turkish league last season.

Currently, he is playing a starring role in Turkey’s Euro 2024 journey which sees them into the quarter-finals against the Netherlands after beating Austria.

Yilmaz is seen as one of the only Turkish league players with Premier League potential

Yilmaz is undoubtedly an impressive player and his physical traits are arguably the most impressive part of his game. He’s quick and strong as well as having a great ability striking the ball.

Umit Karan explained just how good he is, claiming Yilmaz is good enough for the Premier League: “There is only one player at the Premier League level in Turkey, and that is Barış Alper Yılmaz! Take it, put it in Manchester City, it won’t matter.

“Barış Alper will make the biggest transfer in Turkish football history. He has a tremendous physique.”

Yilmaz is unlikely to be a priority for United this summer considering he doesn’t play in the any of the priority positions and is unlikely to be viewed as anything more than a squad player with Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho much better players.
