The WNBA announced its 2024 All-Star teams on Tuesday night, featuring a pair of rookies for the first time since 2014. And those rookies landed a commanding share of the fan vote this season.

The way the WNBA operates, All-Star selections are made through a combination of voting by fans (50% of the vote), current WNBA players (25%) and a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters (25%).

So if you can get the fan vote, you’re in great shape.

And the two rookies who made the team this year — the Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark and the Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese — are as popular as just about anyone in the league already.

The fan vote was reflective of that.

Clark took home nearly three quarters of a million votes, leading all vote-getters, rookie or otherwise. Reese finished fifth in the fan voting, securing just fewer than 400,000 votes. You can view the top five in voting below.

Clark and Reese have both accomplished tremendous feats early in their WNBA careers.

Clark, the No. 1 overall draft pick, is leading all rookies in scoring (16.2 PPG), assists (6.9 APG) and made 3-pointers (56). She very nearly became the first rookie in WNBA history to post a triple-double, finishing just one rebound shy in a recent contest.

Reese was recently named the WNBA Rookie of the Month for June, while she extended a WNBA record of consecutive double-doubles to 11 games on Tuesday night. Reese was in tears at her All-Star selection.

The others in the top five of the WNBA All-Star fan voting are all big names in the sport. Former South Carolina stars Aliyah Boston and A’ja Wilson are two of the best bigs in the game, so it’s no surprise to see their inclusion.

And former UConn star Breanna Stewart has also carried a large following with her from her college days.

Needless to say, all five will feel honored to be among this year’s fan favorites.
