Colorado trending for 4-star WR Quanell Farrakhan Jr.

Four-star Class of 2025 WR Quanell Farrakhan.

In 10 days, Spring (Texas) North Shore four-star wide receiver Quanell Farrakhan Jr. is set to announce his college decision. At the end of March, he named a top three of Alabama, Texas A&M and Nebraska.

That was before Colorado jumped in the mix, however. Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes offered the wideout at the beginning of May and instantly became a top contender for his commitment.

“What excites me is the opportunity to be coached by Coach Prime,” Farrakhan told On3 after landing the offer. “It was a very good conversation he had with me and my dad. I believe Coach Prime would bring the real knowledge I need to play at the next level.”

Since then, Farrakhan made his way to Boulder for an official visit on June 21. Now, the Buffs are trending for his pledge, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong logged a pick in favor of Sanders and Co. on Wednesday.

“I loved it in Colorado,” Farrakhan told Wiltfong following his official visit. “They made me feel like I was at home and I believe that they could get me to the next level.”

UCLA also had Farrakhan on campus for an OV last month, as DeShaun Foster and the Bruins also look to be in the thick of things ahead of the 5-foot-11.5, 175-pounder’s July 13 announcement.

As a junior, Farrakhan had an impressive season last fall for The Woodlands (Texas) High School with 46 receptions for 806 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also added another five rushing scores and two more touchdowns on interceptions and kick/punt return.

This spring, he transferred to Houston-area powerhouse North Shore. Farrakhan is the No. 276 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 40 wide receiver and the No. 40 recruit in the Lone Star State.

Buffaloes hold just five commitments in 2025 cycle

After inking a small class last cycle, Coach Prime and his staff currently have just five pledges in the 2025 class, checking in at No. 79 overall in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Detroit native and IMG Academy standout four-star cornerback Alex Graham highlights the class as the lone top-300 recruit in the mix. The 6-foot defensive back is also a top-30 corner in the nation. He’s one of two four-stars in the class, alongside Nashville Lipscomb four-star interior offensive lineman Chauncey Gooden.

“Being coached by NFL vets, Boulder is very peaceful with amazing views, and I BELIEVE in what Coach Prime is doing with the program,” Graham told On3. “Coach Prime is very Genuine. Players with the right mentality could help the program succeed!”

Buford (Ga.) three-star linebacker Mantrez Walker, Bluff City (Tenn.) Sullivan East three-star tight end Corbin Laisure and West Bloomfield (Mich.) three-star offensive tackle Jay Gardenhire-Crooks round out the class, as of July 3.
