NASCAR is bringing back a fan favorite for another go-round in 2024, as the Cup Series will takeover Chicago this weekend for the Grant Park 165.

While NASCAR on the streets of Chicago was a sight to see in its own right, last seasons iteration was also the coming out party for Shane van Gisbergen. He captured the win during his first career NASCAR start, and changed the course of his racing career in the process.

The beloved SVG will return to Chicago this weekend, but there’s also plenty of Cup Series wheelmen hoping to prove their mettle to the New Zealander. Here’s the full betting lines for the entire field to win this weekend, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Shane van Gisbergen (+600)

shane van gisbergen

Shane van Gisbergen shocked the motorsports world with his ability during last season’s iteration of the Chicago Street Race. Since capturing victory in his first NASCAR start, SVG has uprooted his life and chosen to try to succeed in America, and he’s more than held his own in the Xfinity Series.

While he’s improving on ovals each time the Xfinity Series goes to one, SVG has truly excelled on road courses. Last month, he captured back-to-back wins in Sonoma and Portland, and now he’ll be looking to add another trophy to his collection in Chicago. It’s easy to see why he’s the favorite.

Kyle Larson (+650)

Kyle Larson

Nobody had a more hectic afternoon in Nashville than Kyle Larson. After looking primed to win the race multiple times, Larson wrecked, ran out of fuel and somehow worked his way back up to a P8 finish, all in overtime of the Ally 400.

With all the victories Larson has to his name, a win in Chicago would mean the world to the Hendrick superstar. He came home P4 in 2024, so there’s some merit for Larson getting to Victory Lane in the Grant Park 165 on Sunday.

Christopher Bell (+650)

Christopher Bell

An accident ended Christopher Bell’s afternoon early in Nashville, and ruined his bid for a fourth win in 2024. The No. 20 wheelman came home P36, a disappointing finish after his sweep last weekend in New Hampshire.

While Bell is a threat to win at any track, he didn’t have the best race in Chicago last season. The No. 20 finished P18, so he’ll have to do better than that if he’s to get back on track this weekend in the Grant Park 165, after a disappointing afternoon in Nashville.

Tyler Reddick (+700)

Tyler Reddick

Tyler Reddick almost came out of nowhere to win in Nashville. He simply couldn’t get by Joey Logano after rocketing to the front in the fifth overtime, but the 23XI Racing wheelman can be satisfied with his podium finish in P3.

While Reddick started on the front row in Chicago in 2023, he finished P28 on the afternoon. The exciting wheelman will be hoping to fare much better than that in NASCAR’s return to the track in 2024.

Chase Elliott (+1000)

Chase Elliott

In the past, Chase Elliott has had some serious success in Nashville, but it wasn’t meant to be on Sunday afternoon. The No. 9 ended up finishing P18 on the afternoon, not exactly where the Hendrick Motorsports star wanted to end up in the Music City.

During last season’s trip to Chicago, Elliott was one of the lone Cup Series wheelmen who had something for Shane van Gisbergen, but it wasn’t meant to be. The No. 9 came home P3, so he’ll be looking to get to Victory Lane this time around.

A.J. Allmendinger (+1300)

AJ Allmendinger

Before Shane van Gisbergen journey to America and joined NASCAR, road course racing was A.J. Allmendinger’s forte. While he’s still more than savvy on the tracks, he’s been slightly overshadowed, but he’ll return to the Cup Series this weekend to try and win in Chicago.

Allmendinger is no longer a full-time Cup Series wheelman, but he remains one of the best in the world on road courses. He promised to jump on the fountain if he won in Chicago last season, and perhaps he can make good on that promise in 2024.

William Byron (+1300)

William Byron

Another mediocre afternoon has William Byron wondering what he needs to do to get back to his winning ways. The Hendrick Motorsports wheelman has three wins on the season, but he’s sputtered a bit over the last month and change, capped off with a P19 finish in Nashville.

Maybe that’ll all change for Byron when the Cup Series heads to Chicago. Last season, Byron came home P13 in the Grant Park 165, so he’s run well enough. Perhaps he can punch above his weight class this weekend.

Martin Truex Jr. (+1300)

Martin Truex Jr

Like many of his peers, Martin Truex Jr. was in position to steal a win during one of the overtime sessions, but the No. 19 couldn’t make it stick, and he ended up coming home P24 when it was all said and done. He’s still looking for his first win, in what’s now his final full-time season in the Cup Series.

Perhaps his first win of 2024 could come this weekend in Chicago? Truex Jr. came home P32 at the track in 2023, so it wasn’t a good afternoon for him, but better luck could be on the horizon for the Joe Gibbs Racing star.

Michael McDowell (+1300)

Michael McDowell

It’s been an uneven season for Michael McDowell, both on and off the track. Perhaps his mind hasn’t been right, with his move to Spire after ample time with Front Row Motorsports announced earlier this season clouding his vision.

Nevertheless, McDowell remains strong on road courses, and that’s actually how he got into the playoffs last season. He’s going to need to steal a win to make it in once again in 2024, and he’s a good sleeper to rock with this weekend in Chicago.

NASCAR Grant Park 165 betting lines continued:

  • Chris Buescher (+1700)
  • Ty Gibbs (+2000)
  • Ross Chastain (+3000)
  • Daniel Suàrez (+3000)
  • Denny Hamlin (+3100)
  • Kyle Busch (+3400)
  • Ryan Blaney (+3700)
  • Austin Cindric (+4100)
  • Joey Logano (+4600)
  • Alex Bowman (+7500)
  • Joey Hand (+8000)
  • Chase Briscoe (+8500)
  • Justin Haley (+8500)

  • Erik Jones (+13000)
  • Kaz Grala (+24000)
  • Austin Dillon (+24000)
  • Harrison Burton (+24000)
  • Josh Berry (+24000)
  • John Hunter Nemechek (+24000)
  • Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (+24000)
  • Ryan Preece (+24000)
  • Josh Billicki (+28000)
  • Daniel Hemric (+28000)

As you can tell, FanDuel believes Shane van Gisbergen is still the man to beat in Chicago, but it’s no guarantee the New Zealander can notch back-to-back wins on the course. Drivers like Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell and Chase Elliott will be hoping to prove something to SVG when NASCAR takes over the Windy City on Sunday afternoon.
