Akbar Gbajabiamila says there is one team who can stop Kansas City Chiefs winning three-peat Super Bowl

Some NFL teams that didn’t make it far in 2023 have been revamped for the new season.

It looks like this year has the potential to be very competitive and entertaining.

That being said, the Kansas City Chiefs are still contenders for the Super Bowl – their third in a row.

But, at the same time, there are franchises that have exceeded the expectations and reached the postseason. Thi is the case with the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions – last year’s two great surprises.

The Baltimore Ravens also enter the fray as potential candidates to go far this season, as well as the San Francisco 49ers.

In addition, the AFC West, the Chiefs’ division, now has a new coach: Jim Harbaugh of the Los Angeles Chargers. He left his position as coach of the University of Michigan after leading his team to the CFP National Championship and accepted the challenge of coaching Justin Herbert & Co.

The chance for three-peat in the midst of a competitive year

The Chiefs’ organisation is mentally prepared and equipped with the players needed to make history in the league.

Their roadmap is to suffer as few setbacks as possible and get back on track with the long throws.

Former Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Akbar Gbajabiamila was recently on The Rich Eisen Show and one of the topics discussed on the show was KC’s chance of securing the three-peat.

“I’m gonna go three-peat. It’s very likely that these guys got it; they just drafted speed again. We didn’t see that a lot last season with, you know, with what they had going now that they got this deep threat, of course, he’s a rookie. We’ll see what that looks like down the road, but Patrick Mahomes just makes me excited.” claimed Gbajabiamila.

“I’m not trying to be weird, but think about what he’s done in just a short span in the NFL. I mean, we’re witnessing greatness. And then, of course, Andy Reid as well. They’re going to go for a three-peat.”

The bet may be right, but that doesn’t mean the path will be simple.

Can the Chargers be a threat to the Chiefs’ dynasty-to-be

Jim Harbaugh already has experience in the NFL, both as a player and a coach. He coached the Niners between 2011 and 2014, winning his first Coach of the Year award.

He now has the task of making Justin Herbert consolidate his position as a great quarterback. The player has a lot of talent and a lot of potential, but apart from injuries, the Chargers’ squad in general doesn’t expose him to the full potential he can reach.

Gbajabiamila exposes the only opponent that leaves him smelling a rat, and could be a possible threat to the Chiefs’ power.

“Okay, I will tell you, though, there’s one team that has the ability to maybe punch them (Chiefs) in the mouth and stop them from a three-peat,” said Gbajabiamila. “I like (Jim) Harbaugh, man. I really do…I mean, he wins everywhere.”
