Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is reportedly dealing with a foot sprain, according to Dallas Morning News‘ Calvin Watkins. Concern sparked after a photo of the QB on vacation in Cabo, Mexico this week revealed he was wearing a walking boot on his right foot. According to Watkins’ source, Prescott has worn the boot for roughly a week, though it’s not known how he injured himself. The team’s last practice was on June 5.

The photo that surfaced, which appears to have been taken at a marina, was posted on X by a user with the handle “elnarrador” and follows a report that the veteran QB is not “100%” healthy.

On the Ross Tucker podcast this week, pro sports bettor Steve Fezzik said that Prescott is less than 100% with three weeks to go before training camp in Oxnard, California. He also said he’s heard rumors of the QB undergoing an MRI.

“News is, he’s not 100%, and they’ve been betting against the Cowboys the last three days,” Fezzik said, pointing to movement on the Cowboys’ win total. There’s rumors that he had an MRI. That’s unconfirmed, but that’s the rumors that I’m hearing.”

The former Mississippi State standout is entering the final year of his contract with Dallas. The 2024 season will be his ninth in the league. He ended last season with the most passing touchdowns (36) among all starting quarterbacks while going 12-5 in the regular season. He posted a completion rate of 69.5%, which was a career-high mark.

Prescott, Cowboys to report to camp in three weeks

Based on photos posted on their social media pages, Prescott and his girlfriend Sarah Jane Ramos are living up the offseason as best they can before the quarterback locks in for the 2024 season. The couple welcomed a baby girl to the family in February.

The Cowboys will depart from Dallas for Oxnard on July 22-23 and camp will not wrap up until August 22. During that time, they’ll hold team practices, joint practices, a scrimmage and three preseason games, including two on the road.

The day for both veterans and rookies to report to camp is July 24. Undoubtedly, the team will be anxiously waiting to see whether No. 1 wide receiver CeeDee Lamb opts to join them or hold out for his blockbuster contract extension. Last year, right guard Zack Martin staged a holdout until the team restructured his contract.
