Former Florida Gators star Wyatt Langford went into the wall to make an insane catch and rob the San Diego Padres of a home run Thursday.

The Texas Rangers rookie crashed into the wall and managed to hang onto the ball in deep left field. But, he had to adjust to the ball behind him, reaching his left arm way up.

Some how, some way, Langford made the catch. See for yourself below.

The Rangers rookie was pretty adamant this summer that he’s enjoying his first of pro ball.

“Yeah, it’s been great,” Langford said. “I mean, it’s been a really good group of guys. They’ve helped a lot. Yeah, it’s just been great.”

Coming into Thursday, Langford had 229 at-bats with a .262 batting average, four home runs, 35 RBI, 26 runs and seven stolen bases.

The Rangers drafted Langford in the first round of the 2023 MLB Draft with the No. 4 overall selection. During his senior season with the Florida Gators, he was one of the top prospects for the MLB Draft and the superstar didn’t disappoint.

Langford hit .373 with 21 home runs, 57 RBIs, and nine stolen bases for the Gators during the 2023 campaign. He earned unanimous All-American honors and also guided Florida to the 2023 College World Series Finals. He also earned 2023 College World Series All-Tournament Team honors.

Always a tremendous power hitter, Langford played his high school baseball for Trenton (Trenton, Florida). Langford won the 2019 Perfect Game Home Run Derby, before committing to the Gators to play his college baseball.
