Lamar Jackson is jumping on the WNBA train as the league continues to gain popularity. While speaking to reporters in June, the Baltimore Ravens quarterback expressed his interest in attending a WNBA game.

“I would go to a game,” Jackson said. “I’ve been seeing highlights of crossovers. I’ve seen a couple little nice little flashy layups. I’m digging the WNBA a lot. I got to catch a game, I don’t know who I’m going to watch first, but I definitely got to catch a game.”

It’s not clear if Jackson has attended a WNBA game yet, but it would not be surprising to see him and other stars at the All-Star game in Phoenix on July 20. The top stars in the WNBA such as Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and Aliyah Boston will square off against the USA Women’s National Team which features top WNBA stars Sabrina Ionescu, Kelsey Plum and A’ja Wilson. All eyes will be on Clark and Reese as they are battling for the Rookie of the Year Award. Additionally, after facing each other in the WNBA and college, Clark and Reese will be on the same team for the first time.

Lamar Jackson loves what he’s seeing from the Ravens offense

Along with planning to attend a WNBA game, Jackson is getting ready for the 2024 NFL season. After leading the Ravens to the AFC Championship game last year, Jackosn, who won his second NFL MVP award in 2023, is ready to take the Ravens further this upcoming season.

“I believe our offense is taking steps in the right direction right now,” Jackson said about the progression of the offense. “We can’t really … We don’t really know who the guys are going to be right now. We’re not in camp. We’re not close to the first game or anything like that. But right now, I feel like we’re taking steps in the right direction. Guys are moving good, running great routes, catching the ball, blocking good. We look pretty smooth, but I can’t tell until we’re in pads.”

Jackson also talked about how the offense compares to the other ones he has played with in the past. “It’s a] different group of guys [and] new faces, but it’s always the same thing with us on offense,” he explained. “It’s just grinding [and] trying to be better each and every day – nothing really new, just the guys.”
