Are you ready for some early fireworks??? Because Dan Lanning and his staff have pulled off the ultimate show on the recruiting trail this 4th of July.
Five-Star, yes FIVE-STAR wide receiver Dakorien Moore committed to Oregon moments ago over Texas, LSU, Ohio State and others. Moore is the No. 1 ranked wide receiver in this 2025 recruiting class per the On3 Industry Rankings. The 5-foot-11, 186-pounder is the No. 3 ranked player in the country in those same rankings.
Moore is truly elite by any metric. And beating out the likes of Texas for the Duncanville (Texas) product was not easy. However Oregon recruited Moore relentlessly and with a lot of help from the support staff. This was not just Dan Lanning and Junior Adams on the hunt. Oregon recruiting personnel, analysts and more were involved.
Oregon now has 15 commitments in the 2025 class. Adding Moore gives the Ducks 3 5-Star commitment. The Ducks continue to push for the No. 1 recruiting class in the country, potentially on the verge of adding more 5-Star commitments in July.
As you’d expect, the On3 Scouting Report has a lot of good things to say about Moore.
The comparison they used is Odell Beckham Jr.
“Skilled receiver with a well-rounded skill set who stars for one of the tip high school programs in the state of Texas. Measured at around 5-foot-10.5, 175 pounds prior to his junior season. Touts top speed on the track, running a wind-aided 10.63 mark in the 100 meters as a sophomore. Shows a refined and well-rounded skill set as a receiver both on Friday nights and in the camp setting. Has the long speed to separate deep and take the top off of defenses. Shifty after the catch and uses his field vision to find open space, sometimes cutting back across the field. Looks to have plus ball skills, with the ability to make acrobatic catches. Shows reliable, strong hands at the catch point in the camp setting. Turned in a good sophomore season for the Texas state champions, catching 44 passes for 767 yards and seven touchdowns.”
