Five-Star Plus+ WR Dakorien Moore commits to Oregon

Five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore poses in the 'Uncle Phil' chair at Oregon.

Duncanville (Texas) Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Dakorien Moore has committed to Oregon.

The one-time LSU commit chose the Ducks over the Tigers, Texas and Ohio State.

Moore is the No. 3 overall prospect and top-ranked wide receiver in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 1 player in Texas.

Upon Moore reopening his recruitment, Oregon was always mentioned as a top contender, though Dan Lanning and his staff were never considered as the frontrunner in the race. Buzz continued to swirl around the Ducks as they got Moore on campus for an official visit on June 21.

Receivers coach Junior Adams, Ra’Shaad Samples and the Oregon staff continued to give Moore and his family different looks at life on campus and on the football field in Eugene. The elite pass-catcher is now set to head to the Pacific Northwest in a monumental recruiting win for the new Big Ten program.

“I love how open I can be when I’m out there. Their uniforms and their style, they’re just different. It’s unique, and it’s not really comparable to any other school I’m looking at. I just think they have great coaches in general,” Moore said of Oregon at the On3 Elite Series in May. “Coach Lanning knows how to judge people, and he is a good judge of character. And he’s really good at building relationships and getting people to trust him. I feel like that reels the great players in. And with Coach Adams, he’s just a well-rounded good coach, good mentor and a good person to be around.

“Oregon is just different on so many levels,” Moore’s mother, Marjahn, previously told On3. “Their recruitment process is second to none. You will have a relationship with everybody from the head coach to the water boy. That’s how Oregon is and it’s a genuine relationship with everybody.”

Moore becomes the third five-star prospect in Oregon’s 2025 class, flanking Tampa Bay Tech five-star WR Dallas Wilson and Conroe (Texas) five-star cornerback Dorian Brew. The Ducks’ class now ranks No. 3 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Dakorien Moore Scouting Summary

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power writes this of Moore as a prospect:

“Skilled receiver with a well-rounded skill set who stars for one of the tip high school programs in the state of Texas. Measured at around 5-foot-10.5, 175 pounds prior to his junior season. Touts top speed on the track, running a wind-aided 10.63 mark in the 100 meters as a sophomore. Shows a refined and well-rounded skill set as a receiver both on Friday nights and in the camp setting. Has the long speed to separate deep and take the top off of defenses. Shifty after the catch and uses his field vision to find open space, sometimes cutting back across the field. Looks to have plus ball skills, with the ability to make acrobatic catches. Shows reliable, strong hands at the catch point in the camp setting. Turned in a good sophomore season for the Texas state champions, catching 44 passes for 767 yards and seven touchdowns.”

Moore has an On3 NIL Valuation of $491K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
