Celtic dressing room eager to see Bhoys pull off one summer transfer pursuit

Celtic have made it clear they are intent on signing Adam Idah this summer, entering negotiations with Norwich City this week.

Despite a rejected bid thought to be in the region of £4m, Celtic are said to still be in talks with the Canaries.

Reporting indicates hopes are high that Idah will be permitted a move to Glasgow with the player himself keen on a switch to the Scottish champions.

Idah netted nine goals on loan in the second half of last season, firing Celtic towards a league and cup double at Rangers expense.

The Republic of Ireland international showed he has the talent and the mentality to make a big impact in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic players ‘would love’ Adam Idah return

It’s little surprise that his return would be popular amongst the Celtic squad and Liam Scales made it clear he would welcomed back with open arms, on and off the pitch.

The defender said [Herald Sport, 05/07 print edition]: “Adam is full of stories, he’s funny. You can have a laugh with him all the time. He is always in a good mood. He brought fun to the dressing room. He was good for a night out as well at the end of the year!

“Others were big on the football leadership, Adam was more happy-go-lucky. He has a craic with everybody. You need people like that. On top of leaders like Joe and Cal [Callum McGregor] you need others who balance it out I suppose.

“We would love to have Adam back. He is a great lad. He is obviously a brilliant player, but to have him in the changing room as well is brilliant. He is a good guy. He was massive for us and scored massive goals and put in massive performances. It is out of our control, but hopefully it happens.”

Idah is the right fit to be an alternative striking option to Kyogo. He gets goals, even off the bench, and has already forged fruitful relationships with the rest of the Celtic squad. Everyone is eager to see what he can achieve with a full season at the Bhoys.

We know that Brendan Rodgers is a big fan, too, and wants the deal to be done. It’s time to pay the money that Norwich want – as long as it’s not outrageous – and get this over the line.
