We cannot lose an attendance battle to Louisville — so buy La Familia tickets

Big Blue Nation is the Aaron Harrison of fanbases, a group that comes up in the clutch like clockwork, without fail. They would travel across the globe (and have) to watch Kentucky play — hell, they sold out Rupp Arena for a press conference with 5,000 fans turned away at the front door. Nothing compares to BBN, nor will anything ever compare to BBN.

The issue? We’re currently losing an attendance battle to Louisville, The Ville leading La Familia in first-round ticket sales for The Basketball Tournament later this month.

And we just can’t be having that.

BBN is making a push, but La Familia still trails The Ville by over 1,000 tickets now with just 11 days until games tip off in Lexington at Rupp Arena, 12 until the Louisville Regional at Freedom Hall.

The graphic makes me sick to my stomach and must be changed in a hurry.

This isn’t for bragging rights, either. There is a ton on the line when it comes to attendance, regional hosts earning a home-court advantage for the TBT Quarterfinals with first-round ticket sales serving as the tiebreaker. Should La Familia and The Ville come out of their respective regions, this ticket race will decide if the head-to-head rivalry matchup will take place at Rupp Arena or Freedom Hall.

Tickets can (and need to be) be purchased here, a chance for BBN to see Eric Bledsoe, Andrew and Aaron Harrison, Willie Cauley-Stein, Kellan Grady, Doron Lamb, Marquis Teague, James Young, Reid Travis, Nate Sestina and Daniel Orton back in blue and white at Rupp Arena this summer.

“It’s an awesome opportunity for Kentucky basketball in the summer,” Sestina said on KSR on Monday. “An exciting time with a new coach, new energy, new team and an opportunity for us to play in Rupp again.”
