Terrifying Moment Low-Flying 700Mph Russian Cruise Missiles Zooms Past Fishermen’s Heads on Way to Batter Ukraine

A group of fishermen captured footage of a pair of low-flying Russian cruise missiles dashing over their heads on July 8, the day of the devastating missile strike on Ukraine.

Knewz.com has learned that the missiles seen in the video, said to have been captured from the Caspian Sea, reportedly belong to the "Kalibr" class.

The video shows two cruise missiles flying over the Caspian Sea at an alarmingly low altitude, surprising the fishermen.

The footage has already made rounds on social media and has been picked up by milbloggers on Telegram.

The pro-Russian Telegram channel Military Informant shared the video, seemingly captured by Instagram user Rasul Menlekaev, and claimed that the projectiles seen in the footage were Kalibr-class cruise missiles.

The Crimean Telegram channel Crimean Wind did not indicate the class of the cruise missiles but it mentioned that the footage was captured on Monday, July 8.

The day the video was captured allegedly coincides with the day Russia launched a volley of around 40 missiles of varying classes, causing significant destruction in Ukraine.

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, more than 40 missiles of various types targeted five Ukrainian cities—Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Slovyansk, Kramatorsk, and Kryvyi Rih.

The Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv, the largest in the nation, saw significant destruction as a result of the attack, as windows and doors of the 10-story main building of the hospital blew out and the walls were blackened. Blood was found spattered on the floor in one of the rooms.

Medical personnel and local residents were seen working together on Monday to remove the rubble and search for children and staff trapped underneath.

It is possible that the missiles seen in the footage captured by the unsuspecting fishermen were involved in the attack. The strike also reportedly included the hard-to-intercept Kinzhal missiles.

Anton Gerashchenko, the former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, shared the footage on X, formerly known as Twitter, with the caption:

"Reportedly, these are Russian missiles flying over the Caspian Sea towards Ukraine during Russian massive missile attack on Monday, July 8."

Previously, Gerashchenko claimed that the "strike on Kyiv's hospitals was precisely calculated."

"The Kremlin deliberately targeted Kyiv's crucial children's hospital. This is an intentional war crime. Its timing was calculated and it was Putin's 'message' to the world."

It is worth noting that Ukraine has been making efforts to exact "revenge" on Russia for the missile strike, by carrying out sabotages and drone strikes.

A day after the strike (July 9), Ukraine responded with a volley of allegedly 38 drones targeting several locations all over Russia. An oil refinery in Russia's southern Volgorod region was among the targets hit hard in the attack, causing a huge fire.

It was reported at the time that two major fires in the region prompted the closure of the local Volgograd and Astrakhan airports.

The drone strike coincided with a sabotage carried out by partisans of the Atesh resistance guerilla group at a railway line near the Russian city of Shakhty. The saboteurs set fire to the relay cabinet of the railway line connecting the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don and the war-torn Ukrainian city of Mariupol.

Per reports, the railway line was used to supply military equipment and troops to the frontlines of the Ukraine war. Announcing the sabotage, Atesh partisans warned Russian forces that "Our revenge for your criminal actions will be scary."
