Como 1907 are reportedly confident about what Raphael Varane will do this summer after talks with the Serie A side and links to Inter Miami.
The French defender remains a free agent after leaving Manchester United at the end of his contract, with Inter Miami interested in signing Varane, yet face strong competition from Italian side Como for the 31-year-old’s signature.
With Inter Miami in the market for a new defender ahead of the MLS transfer window opening next week. Varane would be an exceptional signing given the center-back’s incredible resume and achievement at the highest level in soccer.
Yet Como could now be closing in on a deal to sign Varane.

According to Sky Sports Italia, Como believe they’ll land Varane’s signature this summer after extensive talks with the player, who is now currently deciding with his family what to do about his next move in soccer.
Como, who were only promoted to Serie A last season, have established themselves early this summer as one of the most ambitious sides in Europe with big dreams of challenging the elite in both Italy and on the continent.
And signing Varane would certainly do that, with the defender one of the best in his position in the last ten years and a superstar name known throughout the soccer world after his time at Real Madrid, United and the France national team.
Indeed, Inter Miami missing out on Varane would be a blow, and it will be one that’s made even more frustrating if Como, of all teams, end up winning the race for the 31-year-old defender’s signature.

Inter Miami are likely to bring in one more superstar name this summer after last year’s capture of Lionel Messi and this winter’s arrival of Luis Suarez, with Varane the ideal player to bring in.
However, the defender heading to Como should leave Inter Miami furious, with the French center-back the perfect name to bring in this summer and to help shore things up at the back.
Yet as we now know, Como are likely to win the race for Varane, and Inter Miami need to take important lessons from this transfer slip-up in their next pursuit for a top player in the market.
